The biggest music event of the summer is approaching, and Matala is getting ready once again to welcome crowds of people during the three-day celebration on July 4, 5 & 6, 2025!
For the 12th consecutive year, the Matala Beach Festival—a tradition born from the love of the people—once again promises unforgettable moments filled with music, dance, and freedom, at the place where the “flower children” once lived carefree lives.
The event is organized by “Matala Municipality of Phaistos Single-Member Municipal S.A.”, the Municipality of Phaistos, and the Cultural Association of Pitsidia–Matala, in co-organization with the Region of Crete.
The Matala Beach Festival is one of the largest free music festivals in Europe, offering a three-day experience full of fun, relaxation, and unforgettable memories, right next to the famous beach with its caves.
With four unique stages, the festival hosts top bands and artists from the Greek and international music scene, delivering a one-of-a-kind show under the sky of Matala:
🎶 The Cave Stage – An energy-packed setup in front of the imposing caves.
🕺 The Square Stage – At the heart of Matala, with non-stop beats and a festive atmosphere.
🎸 The Tree Stage – Set against the backdrop of the carved olive tree and Lounge Vibes by Kimzu.
🎶 The Bridge Stage – Above the legendary graffiti “Today is Life, Tomorrow never comes,” where the waves crash!
As part of the parallel activities, the Matala Beach Festival will also host this year:
🎶 The Matala Busking Project, where independent street artists fill the village with music & art.
🎨 The Matala Street Painting, a colorful celebration of creativity that transforms the village into a living work of art on Sunday, June 29!
