World Tourism Day — Elounda
An evening of Cretan hospitality, tradition and culture in the heart of Elounda. The program opens with a special award ceremony honoring the village's first local hoteliers, followed by a traditional Kantada serenade performed in the village centre, and closes with treats offered by local business owners in Elounda square. Free admission.
Cretan Cooking Festival — World Tourism Day
Held at the Agios Nikolaos port to mark World Tourism Day, this gastronomic celebration brings together local producers, cultural associations and restaurateurs for an evening of authentic Cretan recipes and local products. Traditional music from the Manolis Rasidakis band and dance performances from the Lyceum of Greek Women round out the night. Free admission.
Cliff Diving in Agios Nikolaos
Divers from across Europe and beyond leap from platforms up to 20 metres above Lake Voulismeni, right in the centre of town. Expect twists, somersaults, a lit-up night show and a full weekend of music and dancing around the lake — all free to watch.
Agios Nikolaos on SUP
A six-day international Stand Up Paddle festival combining the ECA SUP European Championship and an ICF SUP World Cup. Elite paddlers race Sprint, Technical and Long Distance along the coastline — open to watch for free.
